Is Green Tea the healthiest drink ??
Going green is the key, they said.
And that's what we believed too!
And people started taking green in good amount until some scientists come up with their research about some side effects of green tea which was not so appealing .
What is important you gotta know all of them?
Let's start with it's benefits..
- Green tea is considered as one of the most beneficial beverage on this planet as it contains a powerful Antioxidants "CATECHIN" which helps in strengthening our immune system and improves metabolism and has anti-aging properties.
- It also helps in removing bad cholesterol thus promotes good heart health and good for BP ,Diabetes and Thyroid patients.
Now How can be Green tea be bad for you ?
How ? I mean, How ?
- Firstly it's about it's caffeine content that we must admit ,excessive caffeine intake has always been linked to issue's like nervousness, shakiness and anxiety. And the people who are intolerant to caffeine suffer more - even a small amount of caffeine is poisonous for them.
- Drinking green tea in large amount (more than 2 cups a day) cause problem like insomnia ,upset stomach ,diarrhea and frequent urinating.
- Also most important , green tea consumption can hurt iron absorption in our body which again can cause lot of other problems . With that body excretes greater amount of calcium if caffeine intake increases which may lead to osteoporosis.
And one more fact cannot be declined previous study found a weak link between Green tea intake and low cholesterol level.
Actually you get the point .Don't you ? Lot of contradiction.
Alright ,now the we have discussed the side effects of green tea in detail but I want to make it clear that I cannot deny the fact that there are no cases of consumption of green tea in moderate amount causing any of these issues.
It also depends on quality of green and person body types.
People who are on certain medications like thyroid patients must consult with their doctor as per one study published in 2013 ,catechin in green tea can disrupt thyroid gland and block hormones production.
